Tollywood's Lungi dance

Bollywood may be romancing the lungi only now, but the humble Indian sarong has always found takers among Tollywood's superstars. While Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Yo Yo Honey Singh have taken the country's music-o-sphere by storm with their popular song, Lungi Dance, the humble Indian sarong has always found takers in Tollyland.

An integral apparel of the masala flicks churned out by South Indian cinema — the 'mass' attire, if you will, has existed on the 70 mm since time immemorial. Veterans like NTR, Krishna, Shoban Babu, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, etc., have burned the dance floor with their moves in this garment and even turned it into a fashion statement! The young stars have now taken it upon themselves to carry on this lungi legacy. 

Pawan Kalyan 

Pawan Kalyan was seen shaking a leg in a lungi in his latest release, Attarintki Daredi. Fans of the Power Star couldn't get enough of their favourite actor in the mass attire, as aisles and stalls in theatres turned into mini dancefloors, when he came onscreen, clad in a lungi. But this isn't the first time the actor sported a lungi. In fact, he was seen in one in his earlier films such as Toli Prema, Thammudu, etc.

NTR Jr

NTR Jr too seems to be bitten by the lungi bug. The actor enthralled the audience in a spunky lungi act in the song Pandaga Chesuko from his latest release. Earlier too, NTR Jr was seen shaking a leg in a lungi for a slick dance number in the hit film, Simhadri.

Allu Arjun

For the first time ever, fans of the Stylish Star got to see their favourite actor in a lungi. Allu Arjun's crazy dance moves in the outfit for the number, Top lesi poddi, in Iddarammayilatho, was an instant hit!
